Elections & Voting

The City of Liberty General Election is held on the 1st Saturday in May of each year. In each even numbered year, three council members and a mayor shall be elected, and in each odd numbered year three council members shall be elected. These positions are all elected at-large.

The City’s next General Election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 (Postponed to Tuesday, November 3, 2020), at the Jack Hartel Building, 318 San Jacinto Street.  Filing for a place on the ballot is set by state statute and takes place from January 15 – February 14, 2020.  Positions up for election are the Mayor and three (3) Council Members.

The City’s 2021 General Election will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Jack Hartel Building, 318 San Jacinto Street.  Filing for a place on the ballot is set by state statute and takes place from January 13 – February 12, 2021.  Positions up for election are three (3) Council Members. Early Voting dates for the 2021 General Election will be April 19 - 23, 2021 and April 26 - 27, 2021.
