About Us
The City of Liberty Parks & Recreation Department consists of a dedicated park manager and nine skilled personnel who work year-round to enhance and preserve the City’s parks, green spaces, and recreational areas.
The Parks and Recreation Department maintains the 129-acre Liberty Municipal Park, which serves as a centerpiece for community recreation, special events, and outdoor activities. In addition, the department oversees several neighborhood parks located throughout the city, including:
- Palmer Park- Palmer Street at Navigation Street
- Magnolia Park- Magnolia Street at Browning Street
- Lamar Park- Lamar Street at Ohio Street
- Canfield Park & Dog Park- Canfield Street at Grant Street
Beyond park maintenance, the Parks & Recreation Department is also responsible for mowing and maintaining all public rights-of-way within the city limits, helping to keep Liberty clean, attractive, and well-maintained.
Through consistent upkeep, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to community pride, the Parks & Recreation Department plays a vital role in enhancing quality of life and preserving the beauty of the City of Liberty for current residents and future generations.
