Animal Control Services

About Us

We at the City of Liberty Animal Control Division strive to make our city a safe and healthy environment for our citizens and pets. We strive to educate the public and encourage pet owners to spay or neuter their pets. We enforce city ordinances and state laws to ensure the safety of the public and the welfare of the animals.

The goal of animal control officers in the City of Liberty is to get the community involved through community education and public awareness of the ever-growing population of abandoned and neglected animals in the City of Liberty.

Animal Control Officers provide:

  • Enforcement of animal related state statutes and all ordinances under Article 2.01 of the City of Liberty Municipal Code as it pertains to animal welfare and public health and safety
  • Rabies control and quarantine
  • Animal cruelty investigations
  • Barking dogs, animals-at-large and animal sanitation complaints

The City of Liberty has two full time State certified Animal Control officers. Hours of operation vary depending upon the season and availability.
