Obtaining New Service

The City of Liberty provides water and sewage, garbage, and electric service to most parts of the City. Please make arrangements for Utility Service with the Utility Billing Department located in the lobby of City Hall during business hours.

The following items are required to obtain new service:

  1. Address of property requiring service
  2. Documentation identifying you as owner of the property or a lease/rental agreement if you are renting the property
  3. Personal identification: Valid driver’s license or official identification card and Social Security card
  4. A security deposit is required before service is connected. Information on deposit is outlined below; and
  5. Completed Application for Utilities - Residential Account or Application for Utilities - Commercial Account.

Upon meeting the requirements listed above, the City will connect your service.

Effective June 18, 2021, a Municipally Owned Utility (MOU) may not disclose customer information unless the customer elects to make the information public or certain exceptions apply. Also excluded from public disclosure is information: (1) that reveals whether an account is delinquent or eligible for disconnection; and (2) collected as part of an advanced metering system.

MOU Customers may elect to make information public by filling out the Request for Disclosure of Information.
