Oceans of Possibilities SRP 2022

The Liberty Municipal Library’s Summer Reading Program gets underway on June 13th with six full weeks of reading fun.

This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities” and the library has a great lineup of entertainment and prizes for all area children.

June 13th is the first day to check out books that will earn participants weekly prizes. Weekly entertainment includes: Snowcones and Liberty Fire Department on June 16th, Tailwise - Pirates: Lost at Sea on June 23rd, Craft Day on June 30th, Magician John O’ Bryant on July 7th, Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge on July 14th.  All events will get underway at 2:30 p.m.

Ending the program with a BLAST will be a Big Time Bubble Foam Party on Friday, July 22 @ 10 a.m. Swim attire (swimsuit, goggles, etc.) and a towel for each child is recommended. The normal library functions (check in/out, computers, printing, etc.) will not be available until normal 1-5p.m. hours on this day.

Weekly prizes will be chosen from a treasure box filled with an assortment of small toys including stuffed sea turtles, mini bubble poppers, slap bracelets, wind-up pirates, slime, noise putty, and many other great toys.

All children who participate will receive a certificate at the end of the program.  In addition, there will be drawing prizes given to each age category. 

All area children are welcome to attend the free program.  An up-to-date Liberty Municipal Library card is required for each child and is free for all Texans.  Parents must present a valid Texas driver’s license when applying for library cards.  Children may be signed up to participate any time during first five weeks of the program.
