Sam Rayburn Municipal Power Agency
Purpose
The city, which owns its own electricity distribution system, purchases energy wholesale from the Sam Rayburn Municipal Power Agency [SRMPA] under a contract through Entergy. SRMPA is a power consortium jointly owned by the cities of Liberty, Livingston and Jasper.
Meetings
Meetings of the SRMPA Board of Directors are held at 9:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Livingston City Hall.
Members
Appointments for two-year staggered terms are made to the SRMPA Board of Directors in September of each year. Each member city is allowed two representatives.
