Welcome to the City of Liberty

Liberty, Texas, known as "The First City on the Trinity," was established in 1831 and is  situated on US Highway 90 midway between Houston and Beaumont.  Easy access to these metropolitan areas, a low cost of living, high quality of life, and a rich heritage make Liberty a great place to put down roots.

Liberty offers residents a small town atmosphere while providing all the modern services one expects from larger cities.
Newcomers will find a friendly, charming community with a progressive outlook on the future.  Liberty is a great place to visit -- and a better place to live.

CITY OF LIBERTY ANNOUNCES "BLACK AND GOLD STREET SIGN PROGRAM"

The City of Liberty has implemented a new program that combines Liberty Panther school colors with modern new street signs around the city.  The program is planned to eventually replace all of the present green and white street signs with the black and gold colors of the Liberty Independent School District.  Although the city will replace signs as needed, individuals, businesses and local organizations can purchase new black and gold street signs for any location in the city. The cost is a flat rate of $40.00 per sign.

Interested parties willing to purchase "Black and Gold" street signs to replace current street signs can go to City Hall to purchase the signs for placement at their designated location. There is also a display located in City Hall for any one wanting to view the proposed signs. Purchasers will need to provide street name, block number and/or cross street. For further information please call City Hall at 936-336-3684.
